Manual Therapy
Manual therapy is the cornerstone of our care. The human touch
is an essential ingredient to our evaluations, care plans, and
treatment guidelines. Patients respond positively to our hands-on
assessment and treatment, and they become strong, active
participants in achieving their own recovery.
Manual therapy uses specific hands-on techniques to assess and
treat joints and soft tissues throughout the body. Our goal is
modulate pain, improve function, increase range of motion, and
decrease soft tissue inflammation.
Some of the techniques we use include:
- Connective tissue techniques
- Myofascial release
- Craniosacral techniques
- Mobilization of joints
- Joint manipulation
- Mobilization of neural tissue
- Visceral mobilization
- Strain-counterstrain
- Soft tissue mobilization/massage
- Muscle energy techniques
- Individualized home exercise and activity programs
We provide care for patients with wide-ranging needs that
include:
- Postsurgical rehabilitation
- Sports rehabilitation
- Work injury rehabilitation
- Geriatrics rehabilitation
- Prenatal & postpartum therapy
- Chronic illness/deconditioned manual therapy
- MVA injuries
- Cerebrovascular accident/ stroke
- Spinal cord injury
- Chronic pain/fibromyalgia
